​1. Who can live at SDH?
People over 65 who can care for themselves and live independently.
2. How much is the rent?
The monthly fee at SDH includes your room rental, daily home-cooked meals, heat and electricity, basic cable, and fibre optic internet. Our fee is currently between $1858-$1909 per month.
3. Do I sign a contract?
All residents must agree to and sign our Residential Tenancy Agreement.
4. Who furnishes the house?
Residents furnish their rooms. SDH furnishes communal areas.
5. Do I have to clean my room?
Yes, residents clean their own rooms and do their laundry. We can recommend affordable local cleaners if you wish to pay someone to clean your room.
6. Can I cook my meals?
No. There are no cooking facilities for residents’ use. Our staff serves healthy, nutritious lunch and dinner daily in the dining rooms.
Breakfast foods are provided for the residents to help themselves to.
7. Are pets allowed?
Residents may not have pets.
8. Can you cater to special diets?
No, the same well-balanced meal is provided for everyone. We serve a variety of delicious foods that are well-liked by everyone.
9. Is smoking allowed?
No, our houses and property are smoke-free.
10. Is there a place for out-of-town guests to stay?
We have a fully furnished guest room with a full bathroom on the second floor of the south house. The room is rented to family members for $60/night.
11. Are there house rules and regulations?
There are general rules of normal household courtesy. You will be free to do as you choose, to come and go as you wish. SDH is your home.
